No. Brad was just bored and wanted to play with his shop toys!  :rofl:

My car started out with a 440 installed when I bought it, I bought a rebuild distributor for it when I first got the car. I then built the 451" which is a low deck 400 "B"  block, I didn't want to buy another distributor as it was new and worked great, so to use the same distributor you need this spacer. 

Ahh makes perfect sense.

Now you can go either way on your next build!
