Title: Rims on Broadcast Sheet?
Post by: gpm6367 on February 06, 2020, 07:12:12 PM
Can u tell from the broadcast sheet what rims and tires came on a car?

Did 71 R/T come with rallys?

If equipped with rallys what spare came I trunk?

YES your BCS will tell you everything you need to know.

NO not all R/T's came with rallies

If the car came with 14" rallies, you got a normal rim 14" spare or optional collapsible spare.
If it came with 15" rallies, I believe the collapsible spare was standard.

What was the standard rim on an R/T?

IIRC it was the "450" steel wheels with the standard dog-dish hubcaps.

With those "450" steel wheels you could upgrade to optional wheel covers such as the W11 Deluxe Wheel Covers or the W15 Wire Wheel Covers. If that still wasn't enough, you could upgrade even more to the W21 Rallye Wheels or the W23 Road Wheels (14" only).

Not easy to read. Is that section "wheels" and if so what does 72 31 mean

second line (2) from the top in the "TIRE" section, T87 = F70-14 w/RWL Goodyear POLYGLAS (5 of them, same tire in the trunk)
fourth line (4) in the "WHEELS" section, 52 = 14x5.5" "RALLYE" wheel, TX8 = spare wheel paint color "BLACK", 59 = 14x5.5" steel wheel
bottom line (11) in the "W" section should be a "1" under the "W2_" = W21 "RALLYE" wheels

fifth line (5) "LABELS" section: 72 is your emission label part # (under the hood) & 31 is your tire pressure label part # (driver's side door jamb)

 Dude that is absolutely amazing.

So the car should have F 70x14 raised white letter polyglas tires with 14.5 rally rims and a 14.5 steel spare which should be painted black, yes?

The trim tag has a performance hood RPO code but it's not blacked out like others that I've seen. Rather there is an R/T silhouette up toward the front center of the hood. Is that original?

STANDARD on the '71 Challenger R/T was the J54 "sport hood" (raisin bran/two-scoop) it also had the vinyl "R/T" decal STANDARD
OPTIONAL was the V21 "performance hood treatment" black vinyl decal with the "R/T" cutout

I believe "RPO" is a GM term, accurately at Chrysler, they are "Sales Codes"  :P as is "rally" VS. "rallye"

what's the R/T look like?

I've had B bodies but have never had an E body. Not counting my daily driver...

That's a great combination. Really like that interior with the exterior color.   Are you putting it back to original?

Have you scanned your build sheet and added it to the build sheet information section?   Sure would be nice to see it there.

Rob Tomolillo at the mopar swap shop on facebook has a rear seat for sale for 200 bucks that is the orange plaid.  Looks to be in pretty good shape.  Thought you might be interested if you don't have a set yet.
