Title: splash sheilds
Post by: culp71 on May 16, 2018, 06:39:54 AM
so 71 cuda, 4 frame K member splash shields?
small front set of splash shields rivet to the frame between the K frame arms,
but how about behind, I see holes in the frame and can find a "starter" splash shield, but
what about the pass side?

Only AUTOs had one starter shield on the driver's side, nothing on the passenger side except the two front ones as mentioned.

Did the splash shields still get attached with rivets in 71?  I was thinking that was 70 only.  When did they go to screws?

I believe the front two where riveted on and the rear was screwed.
but don't know for sure...

I've seen both on 71's, I typically use screws on 71's

The front Splash Shields on my 4 spd AAR were screwed on from the factory, they had never been taken off before I took them off to blast and paint the engine compartment.

My build Date was 3-70 so that may be why they were screwed and not riveted though.  :notsure:
