:-[ Well, I failed that test.... I must not be the real deal. 8)
My first guess was going to be contacting the latch pin on the hood, but knowing you've been working on the wiring on Miss Nikki, I'm going to guess the edge of a ground strap bit your head while coming out from under the dash.
i will go...leaning in under the hood...caught the hood latch!!

That would be my guess too. Can't wait to know if it's right or wrong.
You bought another one and your wife found out?
I'm often wearing a baseball cap when I stick my noggin under the hood, so when I scrape the safety latch I get a scratch or small bruise instead of drawing blood! :tool:
Thanks Gawd I ain't the only one that does that !!! I feel soooooooooooooooooo much better now.
It's Mopar's way of toughening us up.
My bald head recognizes a hood latch scratch. I hate that :pullinghair:
It's not the hood latch it's the brain matter hook...
Yea... gonna say hood safety. But surprise us :)

Altho there were several winners here!!! (cause 99% of us have been there) The brain matter hook made me laff!! Ya I think Miss NIKKI got even with me for ignoring her for 2 years...............
Ouch. hurts every time
and that's why they call it a meat hook. :haha:
I'm glad I left it off my current ride as the last one got me about 3 times. Not fun.
That's another reason I love my AAR. No meat hook to rip your bald head to shreads.
The Sword of Wisdom.... :'(
I showed the pick to my wife...she said hood latch? :)
Jason
The thing of of is... we all KNOW it's there...

And will be reminded regularly.... (In a painful manner I might add)
This one would be the only other I can think of that comes close......
Yup. Been there done that. And it hurts! :crying:
I'm the shortest boy (6'4") of seven siblings. The tallest brother (6'8") has the most scars on his head. Each scar is a painful memento. If I ever go bald my head will look like it went through a barbed wire fence. My sister's license plate: 6ft2Sue and she has the scars to prove it. LOL
I am only 5-7, probably shrunk to 5-6 and it still got me a few times :dunno: yes it hurts.
Happened once then put this beer cover over it.
Works like a charm, warns the bald spot with a gentle touch before going up all the way.
"Home of the Ho made pies ..." :haha: That's good Ray!!
Hmmmm at 6.1' maybe I am a bit of a target. But I do have a few "beverage" cozy's in the glove box.
Yep like everyone else " been there , done that" One of other reasons to go with the T/A hood. I ended up giving my original away to someone on the board just to get rid of a bad memory! :waving:
I have yet to do this? Guess I should buy a lottery ticket!

How tall are you? Do you own an E body? Does it have a secondary hood latch on it? How high does your car sit?

How tall are you? 5' 11"
Do you own an E body? I have had two but the first had hood pins. Current ride is a 72 Chally with the meat hook.
Does it have a secondary hood latch on it? Yes
How high does your car sit? Completely stock.
I am dead serious this has never happened to me haha.
I only remember having that happen once. It was a few years ago at the Mopar Nats. I was in the judged tent and leaned in to look at something and it happened. I felt pretty stupid especially since it wasn't my car and we all know NOT to touch other peoples cars at shows. After it happened I looked around to see if anyone saw me do it. No one said anything and I slowly walked away to tend to my wound.
I think it's only fitting that since this is an E-body site, we have an emoji dedicated to this phenomenon.

I too have learned where the "meat hook" is located. Immediately, sought out an answer and found same as CudaMoparRay. Only difference, I found was to cut the bottom out of the Koozie so it becomes a sleeve. Then if you forget to pull it off (yep, did that too!) the hood will still close. No harm...no foul...no blood!!!
Dilly-Dilly!!!

Add me to the list of those that have never hit their head, at least not that I can remember. Hey,wait a minute....
Talk with 1970 Cougar or 1970 Cutlass owners.
Yep I guest the meat hook or hood latch is not such a safe thing and not kind to our heads . Good one short people Ha ha :tool:
That meat hook got me a couple of times. I think anyone over 6' tall has suffered this. Luckily, it never drew blood out of my noggin.
