Interior / Re: Bucket Seat Hinge Cover Bu...
Last post by Claudia - Today at 08:29:29 AM
Thank you!  My seats took a long time to complete (my first time rebuilding seats) but I was happy with the end result!  I do not know what my seats originally came out of but I assumed a late '71 since they had the push button cages welded to the sides of the seat back frames.

I do not recall a difference in the retaining brackets from LH to RH.

Push buttons are offered from a couple different vendors . . .

Classic Industries (link below) offers the push buttons for about the same price as Josh's Muscle Cars but again, they are just the push buttons.

https://www.classicindustries.com/product/all-years/plymouth/barracuda/parts/md475004.html

eBay (link below) has some show up (used) from time to time but again, comparable in price to new and just the push buttons.

I have not been able to locate any in black but again, I was lucky as my seats already had the push buttons and retaining brackets.  I just had to clean and paint everything.

Quote from: JH27N0B on June 29, 2023, 10:05:42 AMIt just occurred to me, when I got the Mr Norms sales paperwork for my Challenger T/A, it showed that when the car was purchased new in February of 1971, the buyer traded in an H code '70 Challenger towards his purchase.  I'll have to remember when I get home and dig out the sales envelope and post the VIN of that trade in.

I just pulled out the paperwork folder and here is the info on the A66 Challenger traded in on my T/A in February of 1971 by Patrick Willford of Rolling Meadows Illinois.
It was orange though which orange wasn't specified.
It's VIN was JH23H0B268210
They marked down it had an automatic and a radio, no other details.
I wonder if JH23H0B268210 still exists by any chance?

Sorry for my late answer, haven't been here for quite a while. Are you sure that you read the VIN right? I have 0B268310 as an EF8 JH23G, see attached FT, downloaded in 2017.
I did misread my Norms sales paperwork.  The traded in car was JH23H0B268218.  And the notes said it was orange automatic.
Thank you for responding
268218 was not in the A66 Registry. I created a file should the car show up somewhere, some time. Appreciated your efforts. Thanks Phil

I like that!
The body effects give it just enough movement down low.
Really like how they painted the grill, makes it really pop !

Looks like the listing isn't active anymore.

There is no broadcast sheet. I don't have any pictures of the vin. But the car is what the vin says it is. Another neat thing was he had documentation from the family, pit jackets from the drivers. Lots of stuff from both the 48 car and the Indy cars. Where is it listed at, I never found that?

Appreciate the info @Swamp Donkey.  I really want to run some 325/50R-15 Nittos using a similar set up as yours but I'm afraid my tire choice will call for a US Car Tool spring relocation kit & mini tubs as the Nittos reportedly have a 13" tire cross section.

I like the front bumperrettes. Trunk painted black. Trunk lid paint coming off and see rust at edges. Not sure how rusty the car was before they put on the blue paint. This is a big question mark. Missing wing nut at the spare tire. Missing hood latch. Assume body is good, this is a $40k max car for me. Not my kind of blue.
