Title: What year rad?
Post by: fireguyfire on July 11, 2019, 03:48:14 PM
My 73 challenger rallye originally had a 340 4 bbl in it, but in the early 1980's the engine was swapped out for a 1970 383.
I'm curious if the radiator I have is 1973 or 1970. Here's a photo of the numbers on top; can anyone tell me what year it is?

At one point I had several extra radiators. So many are interchangeable that I could see it getting switched out early in its life. Especially if you come across a 3 row and want the extra cooling capacity.

Should this radiator have a shroud on it?
It currently does not.

A shroud dramatically improves the efficiency of any rad

Would it be specific to the rad or just a period correct Mopar shroud?

the 22" needs side rail;s to bolt the shroud to it , You could Check with Dean in Okotoks he often has the parts , he probably will not have the shroud tho , the shroud is reproduced
