Seems about right in line for that car. Anyone put their eyes on it in person? How did it look?
Yikes...someone likes to spend money :alan2cents:
There is a real Hemi Challenger coming up next Saturday :wowzers:
Is it a Red Hemi Challenger? I tried to buy it several years back, but the guy was not ready to sell. I'm excited to see what it brings!!!!
Here's some photos of what it looked like when I tried to buy it.

What was the offer?
After calling the wife and making sure it was okay, I started at $50K. I thought that was fair, but I knew I had a little room to go if he was really thinking of selling. I might have thrown another number out after that, but he was clearly not going to sell that day so I didn't get it.

She is red
The white top and white stripe really looks cool against the red. I would assume a not too common color combo. :ohyeah:
And white interior! That's a cool car.
I wonder why no wheel opening moldings? :notsure:

Commission? :notsure: They normally post the final amount with the commission added in so that's just a guess. When bidding, you don't have the commission added to the price yet.

You guys know better than me , how is the market on these cars, up,down or stable. $wise
Having been to several of these type of auctions, I can tell you that unless you see the cars in person, it's impossible to know really what the market is doing. Years back I was at BJ and saw a Challenger T/A coming up on the block. I had looked it over really good a few days earlier and it was a rusted out bondo bucket that someone painted up nicely. IMO, it needed a full restoration and was nothing more then a polished up project. Watched it go for around $50k and thought someone got taken. Got home and was looking at all the results online and saw the same car. And before I realized it was the same bondo bucket T/A, I thought WOW someone got a nice T/A for cheap. That's when I really understood what everyone had been telling me for years. You have to be there and look at them in person to really know what is happening with the market.
This happens a lot for sure, that why you seen two similar cars get totally opposite results...
Over all I would say the market is still strong on quality cars. It's all about documentation , numbers matching etc... :alan2cents:
Key word being Quality. Was chatting with a buddy that takes a lot of cars to BJ and he said there's always cars that are being pushed through the auctions that are not up to par. But when good Quality cars pass over the block they rarely slip by anyone and almost always bring good money.
Finding a quality car at a steal of a price at auction is like trying to find a quality wife at a strip club. In both cases, if you find one it's almost always going to cost you a lot of money.

Interesting, looks like the Hemi sales are hanging on but others are dropping a bit in price.
The AAR at $195k is mind blowing.

Alan,
Thanks, i didn't realize i had a login account. I have updated my post accordingly.
Both of those prices seem fair. Assuming it is as it looks, I'd pay $51k for the purple one no problem. :ohyeah:
I guess this guy is looking for a "quick flip" ? :bigmoney:

"N" Code 383 4bbl...
Heh LOL
Flippers gonna flip flip flip ......
An $8000 difference between the two N-code Gran Coupes. I think Cody is right when he says Quality doesn't go un-noticed. Attention to detail, no matter what it is you do, will always have value.
