Title: Has anyone rebuilt thier manual steering box ?
Post by: 76orangewagon on March 03, 2018, 02:34:50 PM
Here is my dilemma... I'm trying to keep my own steering box since there are date codes I want to keep with the car, I see Firm Feel sell a rebuild kit for the "Do it yourselfer". Has anybody done this before and if so how difficult is it, It looks fairly straight forward except for possibly some specialty tools.

Did one about 8 years ago.  Not too difficult, and gave me the chance to install a better (20:1) worm gear along with fresh grease.
