Title: K-Frame or Engine Cross Member
Post by: BigSig 6 Barrel on July 11, 2020, 05:08:49 PM
.

My 70 Challenger RT restoration project needs a new K- frame, as the current one is bent, and obviously snagged something pretty hard in it's unknown past.

Couple of questions . . . .

Is there a difference in the big block K- frames?  Hemi, 383, 440, 440/6 ??? . . . or are they all the same?

Second question is:  I see some on eBay listed as  "fits both E and B bodies" . . . is this true?  Are they the same piece?

.

B and E body are different. 318, 340 and 383 are the same, 440 is same as 318,340 and 383 except they have a skid plate for the oil pan. Hemi have their own K-member with a different engine mount system.
70-74 will all fit the same.

I would agree.  I removed a 340 from my 72 cuda and installed a 440 and later a 383, bolted right in.
