Title: Food for thought
Post by: 70/6chall on April 10, 2018, 08:04:12 PM
Was rummaging through the garage recently and ran across a couple of old local newspapers. I immediately went to the classified section to check the car ads, and found these. Kinda chuckled to myself. The ads are from the Press Enterprise newspaper dated Dec 19, 1971 and Dec 23, 1971.   Something for your amusement.     Thanks,   Al

They look cheap, eh? But in 1971 I was making the grand sum of $2.00/hr or $80 per week- before tax or other deductions, so you can see where that $2300 Demon wasn't cheap- to me- at all. That will also explain why I didn't buy one of the mid $5000 hemi cars either. Well, at least one thing stayed consistent; I couldn't afford one then and I sure as hell can't afford one now!  :('
