Title: Challenger T/A exhaust manifold

What combination of studs and nuts and bolts are used to mount both stock exhaust manifolds

The proper kit includes 6 bolts and 6 studs/nuts.

Why is there 14 in the kit for 12 mounts and do any of these go into coolant

I count 6 bolts, 6 studs, and six nuts along with 10 concaved washers....not sure where you're counting 14 ???

Yes I believe at least the four corner studs go into antifreeze, but I'm not sure :thinking:

Yea sorry I didnt realize the 2 longer tubler ones are nuts that go on studs

Oh sorry, yea those are called "barrel" nuts or "sleeve" nuts. Pretty much required to mount the manifolds. :alan2cents:

On small blocks the end holes on the heads are open to the cooling system so the factory used studs so the manifolds could be removed without losing the coolant .
