The US Post Office seems to agree also!
I like this one.
My personal favorite and the "most iconic" are two different things.
No one can argue the General Lee isn't the most iconic.....even if most people don't know what year or what kind of car it is. :alan2cents:
OK, let me change this up a bit. How about most popular with the muscle car crowd, most often seen on the street. The General Lee and the Daytona are out.
A12 Bee or RR!!!!! :alan2cents:
69 Road Runner
69 GTX
69 1/2 A12
my top 3 were the Daytona
A12 cars Bee or RR
the M code cars 440 Dart & Cuda but these are all rare / rarely seen
The Charger / Super Bee / RR were all extremely popular & great looking cars
I think the Daytona best fits the definition of iconic. The most popular of the day was the road runner but the General Lee is the most recognized today.
Road Runner
Charger and the General Lee are probably the most iconic and most commonly recognized and referenced by non-mopar enthusiasts. To anyone not a mopar guy, any mid sized, B body Mopar is a Charger.
By pure production numbers, the Charger as a distinctly individual product line, was only produced for around 90k units for '69. By contrast, Coronet/Super Bee mid sized were over 200k for '69 and the Plymouth Belvedere/Satellite/Road Runner/GTX production was over 250k.
Thanks guys. :bigthumb:
Iconic=Daytona I suppose. Quintessential=69 Road Runner I think. In 69 the Road Runner was the deal everyone wanted and everyone could afford one too.
I'll be the odd man out here and say it's the 69 Dart Swinger 340. Pound for pound and buck for buck, there wasn't much that'd touch those little ba$tards, especially the 4 speed models. Just my :alan2cents:
