MoparFest Aug 19th & 20th New Hamburg Ontario, Canada. :bradsthumb: Canada's LARGEST all Mopar Show!!!!
http://moparfest.com/
Yep, Blown Motor, Ebodycopper, CudaJas, 4Cruzin and I all made it there last year and the weather was great. There were about 1600 cars. Jas geared it up so we could park together and, as promised, I brought the beer, but there weren't many members whistles to wet. Hope to be there this year again, so "y'all come, hear?" :drinkingbud:
Can't wait to see some photos of the event this year. :drinkingbud:

You're to busy sellng parts to come hang with the group . . . I think one of these years you forget about the parts and just chill with the group. Either the Canada show or Carlisle . . . :grouphug:
I am going to try and make it with the car this year but it's a long shot.
Great show though

Not bringing parts to sell to Moparfest this year....I plan to sell everything at Spring Fling. :bigmoney:
Carlisle is a business trip for me, I have three vending spots to park my butt in, but I'm not bringing parts to sell...well not many anyways...

That's Ok Alan , I'll still drink a can of Coke with ya..... they forgot me too! :crying:
Hell no Alan, but I was talking about cars and I SHOULD'VE mentioned not only you, but Tim as well and Brad was already gone by the time I got there. My brain is slowly turning to mush I think some days. Sorry mates! :bigthumb:
Hey guys...the wife and I were just chatting about Moparfest this year, and she had a great idea, it happens from time to time. :1place:
As you know, a few of us have tried to put together a group meet for several years and we have had limited success. I think pone of the problems is that we have not had any dedicated meeting space.
What do you guys think of having a dedicated tent in the group parking area.
I was thinking that I could register two cars this year (hell I own three Mopars) and instead of bringing the second car, we will use that space for a tent (same tent I have used for the past few years, nothing special but some shade for the hopefully hot days). We can park our cars on either side of the tent instead of the car half in the tent. That should give us some space to move around etc.
We may get some push back from the organizers but I could email them and ask for permission first.
Might help us get the existing members together!
So what do you think!
It's worth a try Jason. I'm sure we can all chip in on the registration cost.
My suggestion if your bringing a tent get four of those screw in dog anchors & secure the tent so it doesn't go flying... They are $4 each at home depot...
I guess I don't count either, probably because I left my car at home and just spectated. The "Chopped Liver" group is growing.
OMG- as the 15 yr old girls all say- Let me say it here and now, there was NO intent to leave anybody out of this discussion and, speaking for myself, I'd love it if we could get a group site this year. Jas, I've got a 10'X20' shelter that I'd be glad to bring if that'd help. My sons are talking about bringing their homemade GLH Horizon as well since we finally got the little SOB painted! That's a whole story in itself. I'll also bring a few pints on ice since it's important to be properly "hydrated" don't you think? LOL Does anyone know if there's any prohibition (this IS Canada after all) against our having a BBQ so we could do some dogs and burgers?
Last year I had that corner of the ball diamond where I put up the tent with their permission and it worked great! Just a thought . . . actually not sure if I'm coming this year or not . . . :dunno:
Wow guys, I had to go all the way to page 2 to find this thread...what gives..is the a big show in the US coming up or something??? :notsure:
Ok...great news! I spoke with the organizers at Moparfest and we will have an extra spot on the show field!!!
So the plan as of right now is that the wife and I will arrive early...as we always do, ad set up shop in the show field and have the tent next to the car! We will also try to save a few spots for members to park!
The tent will act as our meeting spot thought out the weekend. We can plan a lunch etc. on both days.
Cody has graciously agreed to provide a banner for the weekend, which we will be displaying prominently on the tent!!
If you are registering for the show or have already registered please let the organizers now you are with the E-Bodies.org group and would like club parking (if you want to).
I hope to see as many members as possible!
Jason
Cody, to save shipping cost on the banner I can bring it home from Carlisle.
Hey, maybe I should register for the show!!
Thank you for the offer. The plan is to give the banners to members after each show. So I'll be sending a new one to Jason. And when you guys are done with it, keep it, give it away or let a little mopar kid have it. Whatever you want. We'll be doing the same with the banners are Carlisle. One of the advantages of owning a sign company. I can make these banners up all day long. :bigthumb:

Cody, any chance of your throwing a couple of those banners in when you send it to Jason? I think I know a guy who's got a Challenger and would think it's neat in his garage! I'd certainly be willing to cover any costs involved. :)

Not I, sorry! But I'll keep an eye out nonetheless.
All right fellas, now that the little show in the US, PA I believe, is over...time to focus on the BIG SHOW!!! MOPARFEST is this month!!!
Ok look, I missed Carlisle again this year, and this is my way of dealing with it!!! I'll get there someday!
I would love to get an idea of who is going to join us at Moparfest this year.
We will have a separate tent set up next to my car and can try to save some parking spots for those of you that are interested in hanging out with my wife and I or just want some shade for a bit.
If you are not interested in hanging out, or did not registered for group parking, that's cool, you are still welcome at our tent.
We are thinking of hosting a lunch for members at least one of the two days (Hey anyone have a portable grill the would like to donate for the weekend). Nothing fancy, hotdogs and burgers most likely.
Hope to see a bunch of you there!
Jason
Jason I will drop in for a visit. Really looking forward to this show!
I registered yesterday with you guys, she said she would be sending stuff in the mail.
bruce.
Still trying to decide if I'm going to be vending or not ?
Hoping to be there Sat and Sun but Sunday for sure.
I'll bring relish for the burgs and dogs. Wife made it, best ever. Got ketchup, mustard and cheese too.
Two weeks from now you'll be saying " Damn that was good". Well, you will if you show up. Otherwise.......
If you didn't register as part of the e-bodies.org group then when you go to registration have them change it so you can join us on Diamond 1. Look for the tent with the e-bodies.org banner.
Wish I could be there. But I'm looking forward to seeing photos from the show. :takepicture: Think of me and snap a few photos of the people and cars. I'll share this thread on our facebook group. :grouphug:

Man you guys don't know what you are missing.
Jason
I went last year and it was a great time! This year I decided to go to Woodward instead. Being only 40 minutes from the cruise, makes it cheaper and more convenient for sure! Next year I may come again!
Jas, I'm registered and I believe it's with the group- I'll have to check. My son scheduled the concrete work in front of our garage for the Saturday, but I've asked him to change that and hope he will be able to. If not, I hope to be there on the Sunday. I'll try to remember to score some of DePietro's Italian sausage for your grill, it's excellent.

@jimynick (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/jimynick_55) hope you can make it!
However, small change of plans for lunch. My plans for a BBQ have hit a bit of a snag. Fear not, we are still planning to have a lunch for any and all members that are interested.
The new plan is to have a sandwich bar available for all members. @blown motor (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/blown-motor_52) and I will have several cold cuts / deli meats and accoutrements available for you to eat at your leisure. The pan (and it s a very loose plan) is to have everything ready in the tent for around noon.
Please let me know if you plan on stopping by so we can plan accordingly.
The tent will be in Ball Diamond 1. I typically arrive fairly early and will do my best to reserve a number of spots for member to park together if you so wish.
Even if you do not plan to park by the tent, please feel free to stop by the tent and say hello!
Hope to see Quote from: benlavigne on August 15, 2017, 07:55:51 AM

Thank you.
If I come up, it would be:
Arriving early Saturday morning at CYYZ, rent a car, attend the show, return and be in place by 7PM back at CYYZ.
I appreciate the offer.
Well just 2 sleeps away! My excitment level is starting to build.
Just in case anyone is wondering the weather for the weekend looks amazing!
This is surprising, as we have only had one weekend that was rain free thie summer!
Loading up tonight, weather does look great for sure. I'll be there very early Saturday morning. See you guys there
Forecast just got better. Only 20% chance of rain on Saturday and 10 on Sunday. :woohoo:
One year ago today, I was in the car starting my drive to the Great White North . . . . Was a nice ride! The way home was a little more challenging with rain! You guys enjoy the show this year and I will consider next year. Although reviews for the Nationals are improving so may go that direction . . .
3 shows all within 2 weeks certainly make it challenging . . . The Nats, Woodward and Moparfest . . . Decisions, Decisions . . . no can't do more than one each year. Well I guess I could do the Nationals and Woodward since Woodward is so close to me.
How long is the drive time from Pearson CYYZ?

That depends on traffic. The 401 can be an absolute stop and go zoo or easy driving. Early Saturday morning shouldn't be too bad. You should get some good Mopar viewing along the way with people heading to the show.
This sure sounds like one great event, we'll have to make the trek someday! Looking forward to getting reports from the show... please?!? :D

I think maybe if I can swing it, Mopar Nationals one weekend and then MoparFest the next. Not sure my wife will agree . . . .
I just got back from Moparfest swap meet...set-up day. Looks like it's going to be a good year. I saw Layson's setting up which is always nice when the American vendors bring their stuff up here, so many CDN's don't make it to Carlisle or the Nats to buy parts. Didn't see Herb's Parts yet, they were there last year.
At least one new vendor from Quebec I've never seen before with a lot of E Body parts and of course Sylvain is there with his huge display. Sylvain was also offering 20% off everything !
Ola, I hope you enjoy the show, you will see a lot of cars you've never seen before. :drinkingbud: I'll be looking for you.
I sure hope the weather holds as mentioned. The boys are out in the garage wrenching on their Horizon changing the head and trying to get it running to take to Moparfest. I've got to try to get my old bus out of the garage and over the hole we dug for the garage drains and that should be fun, especially in the early morning! Wish me luck boys and if it works out, I'll see a bunch of you there. Save me a spot, will you Jas?

The red and black Challengers with hoods up will be in the e-bodies.org display tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting you Ben. Thanks for the pics.

The main difference with US shows such as Carlisle or the Nats is that most of the cars are drivers, with modifications, not many showroom-stock restorations...

Hey guys new here. I got to put faces to names this weekend at moparfest, met a great group of guys. Even joined the area of the ebodies.org for Sunday. I am terrible at remembering names but was great meeting you all. I have been texting back and forth with Murray for about 1.5 years trying to get together and finally got to meet him so that was much needed. I also met jason, cordodge (sorry forget your real name) and his monster 572 challenger, also met a handful of other super nice guys that I can't remember. Chime in and help me out if you'd like. I also see my car made the picture list from Ben. (Purple challenger with black top beside a black Dakota with yellow stripes) Again great meeting you's and look forward to many more
If I'm not mistaken the orange 70, pic numner 1736 and 1738, was in the car corral. It looked like a fresh restoration priced at $75,000.
I restored #1705/1698 White 71 Challenger :D

I am terrible at remembering names but was great meeting you all. I have been texting back and forth with Murray for about 1.5 years trying to get together and finally got to meet him so that was much needed. I also met jason, cordodge (sorry forget your real name) and his monster 572 challenger, also met a handful of other super nice guys that I can't remember. Chime in and help me out if you'd like. I also see my car made the picture list from Ben. (Purple challenger with black top beside a black Dakota with yellow stripes) Again great meeting you's and look forward to many more
I agree my wife and I were lucky enough to meet the best people for sure, enjoyed everyone's company. And don't feel bad Plumcrazy72 I forgot your name as well lol
Bruce.
Goes to show how bad I am with names, don't even post my own lol.

It was great to meet you Adam and always glad to see the younger crowd taking an interest in these older cars. Yours is super nice, we were commenting on it when we were sitting around today. Welcome to the site.
Look who's talking it up at the Mopar booth.
It was great to meet you guys Saturday afternoon at the E-Bodie.org tent! After a long day in the swap meet that beer sure tasted gooood! It was much appreciated. This is for sure a great site with even a greater bunch of guys! :ohyeah:
WOW!!! Thank you for all the cool photos. :clapping: Looks like it was a super show. Fantastic turn out and good weather too. Thank you for letting us follow along through all the photos. For those who could not be there it was great seeing all the pics. Love this thread. :grouphug:
You guys are hilarious! Looks like all of us at home missed out on a really fun weekend. Thanks so much for the pictures...some great looking cars there.

If I'm not mistaken the orange 70, pic numner 1736 and 1738, was in the car corral. It looked like a fresh restoration priced at $75,000.
Yes, at MPR Motors, here in Qc, he has quite a few ineresting cars for sale! http://www.mprmotors.com/inventory/1970-dodge-challenger-rt-440-rt-se/
Ben
OK, a few more before bedtime from the interior display in the arena...

He's a lot smaller in real life :haha:

I will flip all those photos in the morning. . . . Looks like a lot of fun. Issues next year for me, appears my niece is getting married the week before the show next year which mean I will miss the mopar Nats and then have to go to Canada 2 weeks in a row if I want to go . . Not sure how that is going to work . . .

Yeah she lives 20 minutes from the show . . I gave her sh!t today for not planning it around the show . . . lol
Flat Cody first finds the girl then all the good deals in the swap meet. Looks like he learned it all from the last guy he's hanging out with. :haha: :)) :haha:
Looks like you guys had a great gathering and good weather.
Thank you "benlavigne" for all the great photo's. You did a heck of a job.
Also thanks Jason & Murray for the humor you added to this post. Made me chuckle.
I hope next year my car will be able to attend and I'll just tag along. :bigthumb:
Your great coverage of the event, the non-stop-fun and your hospitality (lunch & beer?!?) made us all feel like we missed a phenomenal event! Thanks for sharing so many pics and for including Flat Cody in the fun! This thread definitely gets a :perfect10: from me!! :clapping:
Oh I almost forgot...Flat Cody was really digging this old girl!
They said he was too short, or maybe it was shifty, to sit in it, but they were cool with him getting close for a pic!
Good pics Jas and that WAS a cool old slingshot! The original owner/driver was there when I saw it and he said they had it running last year. I've got a bunch of pics that I keep meaning to load on this thread and I'll have to get my arse in gear regarding that.

It was a real nice set of black Cuda convertible rear interior panels. :'(
To add insult to injury, I did some investigating today and found out who sold them to Ola. It was an old friend of mine that I've known for almost 30 years. His name is Mike and he owns a FJ5 340 Auto 70 Cuda convertible......He had no idea I've been looking for a set and he just about shit a brick when I told him I offered Ola $1000.....Mike told me not to woryy he thinks he has at least one more nicer set.....I was relieved to hear the ones he sold also had repairs done to them which I did not know about......I hope the other set he has are RED  I'll look forward to painting them white :Stirring:
Well my friend Mike came through with another set of near perfect Cuda convertible interior panels today. These ones are tan and in just about as nice of condition as you'll find. I gladly gave $1000 for them.
Wow! Good score.
