1965 Dodge Coronet Superstock A990

Previous Image | Next Image
Description: 1965 Dodge Coronet Superstock A990.  Harm originally wanted an altered wheel base car ( only ? 8 made) but they were all ready allocated to well established drag racers, so he had to settle for a standard A990, which still was a little issue getting the car, as Dodge was allocating these cars to drag racers for the most part.  Dodge built 101 of these, all hand built at the lynch plant. Harm was running a fuel injected 1962 vette, and when he heard about the hemi, he had to have one.  He raced his hemi from 1965 to 1969, at which he set an AHRA record in 1969.  He had bargained with his wife that once he set a record, he would sell the car and start a family, which he did, and sold the car in 1969 with 86 miles on it.  Harm has not had any race cars since then either. The car went to ? Buffalo for a period of time, then went to Texas, and then to Indiana where Gary Runyon had the car restored by  ? muslce car restorations in ? WI.  The car has 116 miles on it now.  Harm lives about 45 minutes from me, and it is so great when he comes out to visit the car, and tell stories !   Priceless  !
