Title: Custom oil pan solutions??
Post by: ViperMan on March 12, 2019, 03:38:45 PM
Does anyone know of a shop that builds custom oil pans...?  Or does anyone HERE build custom oil pans?

I need a solution for my small block (non-e-body engine) to fit around my new ford MII front clip...  I really don't want to try and fab up my own (I just don't have time...)

Any recommendations would be welcomed!!!

I'm assuming you require a rear sump pan? If so lots of options?

Well that's fascinating!  I never thought there'd be ready-to-purchase options...  Any idea if this'll fit a 270ci small block?  @Chryco Psycho (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/chryco-psycho_4)?  Off the get-go the dimensions look the same - I'd have to count bolt holes, but I realize that still leaves a lot to be answered...  Thanks, Brad!!!

pinto front end  :Thud:
No it will not , the 273/318/340 have a smaller end seal , 360 was unique & larger

Lots of other manufacturers/options , just google "Mopar rear sump oil pan"
For BB Mopar's , often trucks used rear sump oil pans. Lots of stock options available....

Have you installed the MII front end already?  If not you might want to consider googling
"crown victoria front end swap" makes things really easy, same bolt pattern , moderns disc brakes, steering rack, suspension, easy to get parts for anywhere etc..... lots of hot rod places are now offering kits to make this popular swap even easier.

Does everybody realize that he's talking about an original "A" engine, not an LA? I'm not sure what the story is on interchangeability between the A's and the LA's, but I know they used some comparable inner parts. This on the '56 ?

Yeup - '56. I've found a company that'll modify my existing pan.  Hoping to get the thing off this weekend and get it shipped out quickly!
