Me neither...Too many ____ I took or had back then.
It was the 70's. What can I say! :Thud:
1973 Olds Cutlass, two-tone paint, 4 door, Rocket 350, ran good. :veryexcited:
Oh yes I remember........I attended high school here in SoCal (Huntington Beach H.S.) this was in 1963, the school had about 4or5 white 1963 Rambler 4dr cars white, bucket seat interior, for Saturday all day driver training. When they were drawing straws for the 3 students per car. I guess I lucked out and was chosen with 2 other students for training in.........ready for this a pink 1959 Ford base model with 6 cyl. 3 on the tree, dual steering. All in all it really wasn't that bad. Thanks, Al
70 Mini IIRC
1970 Ford Cobra Torino.. My first ride... 351C 4V, Auto.. Wish I still had that one too...
1970 Olds 98

'64 1/2 Mustang convertible
19701/2 ford falcon 6/auto.
74 4-door Maverick. It did have reclining bucket seats that were used regularly.
1973 Oldsmobile Omega.
You get used to whatever is common. I learned in my brother's 72 Fargo and my Dad's 71 Chrysler. You just drove them, they didn't seem big at all. My Dad made me drive the Fargo because it had a sure grip and we did lots of skid and drift practice on snow and ice with it. He made sure I could handle an emergency situation when one came up.
1962 Plymouth Valiant, 3 on the tree /6
This is so embarrassing....
1984 Brown Ford Tempo. Quite possibly the ugliest car ever.
My mom's 1970 Camaro RS.
70/6chall
We definately need to get together this year. Corona possibly.
SoCal in Buena Park.
1978 in a white 69 Rambler with 232-6. Beat the crap out of that thing and it never stopped. Beat as in air under all 4 wheels on numerous occasions.
Front bench seats on it would lay flat. As a teen plenty of thoughts but no realizations... :looney:
Traded "up" to a Pinto. :stop:

Unfortunately I kinda have to agree with you.
1977 triple (vinyl roof, green outside and inside) ugly puke green, 4 door Ford Granada. My dad loved that car. Once I got my license I was never allowed to drive it. You think he knew something? :haha:
This makes me feel so young....
1997 Mazda 626. In Ontario there was Two tests a road test to get your G-2 then a test to get your full G. Both were done with the same car.
Amazed I passed really. My in class instructor was this grouchy old guy that clearly lost everything in divorce, his name was Rod. He smoked non stop, never ate just drank coffee and did nothing but complain about how he has to teach young morons to drive because his ex took him for everything. Then my in car lessons were no better. We had a Russian or Eastern European guy who would do nothing but argue with his wife over the phone. He didn't care what we did or where we went as long as we were back at the driving school by the time our lesson ended. It was more of a life lesson than a driving lesson lol.
We had 2 Chevy Novas at the time, a '69 and a '72. Don't remember which one I used.
I passed the test in a 66 dodge Monaco. The Highway patrol man was so impressed with my driving skills, that I didn't even had to parallel park the car! :cooldance:
Four door slant 6 Dart
Passed the test in my Dad's ole' 1960 Chrysler 413 cu in. He special ordered this car to pull a camper trailer to take the family on a 2 week trip across the USA. We visited about six national parks.
70 Challenger, Go Mango, Orange Interior, 318 auto :D She needed some work but at 16 I was thrilled. Old pic parked in the end of the driveway.
Of course my Dad wouldn't let me drive his 70 Dart Swinger, 340 4-speed. Didn't hurt to ask though. :dunno:
1964 Plymouth Belvedere-2 dr-post,
JS27
My 71 Challenger convertible, which I still have.
Don't remember. Probably my mom's 86 Cavalier.
1971 Chevrolrt caprice , 400 2.v ,pitiful, that's what my dad bought after looking at Cuda :'(
I used my Dads 85' El Camino because it was an automatic. It caused me problems because I was not familiar with it since I had usually been practicing on my Step Dads 86' Dodge Lancer 2.2 turbo with a 5 spd. I still passed. I immediately went back in line at the DMV to get my motorcycle temps. Then I went home to ride my 82'GPz 550 that I had sitting in the garage waiting for me.
My dad's White 1964 slant six cylinder Plymouth Savoy automatic push buttons. :burnout:
I was destined to be a Mopar Man! :stayinlane:
1978 Ford Courier pick-up. 4-speed manual. 2-wheel drive.
1966 Plymouth Belvedere II 4 door 318. Paid $100 for it when I was 14. Bought it with 105,000 miles on it and put on another 60,000. Wrenched on it every weekend. I had Genesee beer caps on all the interior knobs. Ah, the good old days.
1972 Chev Vega
:wrenching: 73 Pontiac Ventura with a Pontiac 350ci also started learning bodywork on that car.
'64 Impala--327--Powerglide
White 1967 4 Door Chevy Bisquaine (sp) 6 cyl , powerglide, manual steering. BORING and tough to parallel park with.
65 Buick LeSabre. Totaled it out 2 years later.
My old man's gold, '65 Galaxie 500 4 dr 352 2 barrel! 8)
1983 Dodge Charger. My moms car. Passed in 1990. 16 years one month old and I had a full drivers License.
I was given the opportunity to take my driver's test in our family car, which was a 1971 Dodge Crestwood station wagon. Complete with faded wood panels on the sides.
I just remember being told go as fast as you can through these cones that were set up. Are you kidding me?? This thing handles like a yacht. I took my time. I also nailed the 3 point turn around. I was pretty stoked, I have to tell you.

The same car I passed my test in!
I don't remember the exact year as the car wasn't mine, but it was an early 80's Dodge Charger, and it was silver IIRC.
It was a friend of my Mom's that she worked with at a local restaurant and she was SMOKING hot, lol (she was about 3 years older than me).

...At the least, you would never get a speeding ticket. :D
I had 2 of those slant 6's back then. I loved them, but zero to 60 in maybe 30 seconds.
My mom's 72 VW super beetle... It turns out the car could float as well as the old commercials stated but that's a story for another time..
