Title: Shipping a car in Canada - Enclosed Trailer, Who have you used?
Post by: 72 Challenger on March 20, 2019, 08:20:45 AM
I am looking at a car that I believe may be the one. I need to look at shipping the car, since it plays into the budget. I have zero experience with this, so I am wondering if any canuks have used a shipping company, would they recommend them, and how much should I set aside if I do this?

Winnipeg -> Ottawa

Thanks!

It's going to be based on miles shipped.  How far does it need to go?

I have dealt with TFX International a couple of times, pricey but worth it...

For a less expensive option I had a customer from Winnipeg use LeBlanc Trucking  http://www.topmoving.ca/moving-company/leblanc-trucking_okotoks-ab.html  888-995-1279

I used Mackies in Oshawa about 7 years ago.

No issues with transportation.

It has to go 2140 KM's or 1330 Miles.

I will get a quote from TFX, they have a super easy online form.

So Far I have $2700 CAD plus tax from Mackie. I won't lie, that's more then I was expecting. Still waiting for the others.

Has anyone used a smaller shipping company? I'd like to compare but can't find a single one.

I had only your expertise to rely upon, this is not something I plan to do often in my life.

Have you ever asked them to ship spare parts at the same time? I have to call back and tell them the car I am considering comes with a spare hood. As much as I would like to have the original in need of restoration hood, if it costs more to ship it then it does to buy a new one and restore it locally, I'd leave it behind.

 I do not transport in Canada, but I can tell you for single car personalized service in the U.S. the price would have been approx
$2350.00 American.

Shipping car to Ottawa it's not a big deal. A year ago I've bought a new impala 2018 and did it in two days from Miami. I've used this car hauling services (https://www.shipaa.com/) and felt calm and secured because of GPS tracker and good quality of the transportation. If you need to ship your car fast and save the best option is this service. Very nice guys and new brand trucks to make shipping better and more comfortable, with all that they have reliable prices and a huge amount of please customers
