Title: Ha, ha: Unusual problem with a 360.
Post by: RUNCHARGER on April 11, 2019, 07:03:29 AM
Son mocked up his sorta low buck 360 last night and we have a bit of machining left to do I guess. I found him some old DC 11.5 forged pistons and he mocked them up and they are .1 out of the hole so with his 65cc W-2's we came in at 12-1 compression. Hate to do it but we'll have take it down to about 11-1. I don't think he realizes how much steam this thing is going to make. Going to down fill volume it and make some more precise measurements, those pistons are stock weight anyway so a little off the top will be a good thing.
Not many people have a problem of too much compression in a 360.

At 11 to 1 it should be a stout motor and still run good.   :burnout:
