That's super cool. Never seen one of those made out to the Promo Office before. :takealook:
Hmm: That could be for a T.V. or movie car or a car loaned to a racer. Is the car originally gold?
Very cool! Yes, I've seen that kind of document before. As Sheldon mentioned I've seen this sort of document for cars ordered for use on TV, such as orders by Paramount studios (which in those other documents "Paramount Studios" appeared under the section "Owner's Name"). On this document the "owner" is Chrysler Corp, so this may have been ordered by Chrysler directly for some sort of public relations use.
What is the VON#? The VON is the sequence of digits on the fender tag to the right, on the second row up from the bottom just above the 6 digit VIN#. I think this sequence will start with an "R".
Any details about the car? Sheldon's question about the color gold is a good question, and another possibility is red.
Dan and Ola will surely be able to provide more info.

the January 1, 1970 Rose Bowl Parade had a number white Polara convertibles for the grand marshal & others, the Polaras were scheduled mid-October 1969 (~10 weeks before the need)
this Challenger was scheduled late-November, if it wasn't for a TV-show or movie production
- anything significant public event-wise going on in CA around late-January or February 1971? Apollo 14 parade or something similar
& here's its twin, there were at least 2
courtesy cars at a professional race??
the Motor Trend 500 NASCAR race at Riverside International Raceway was January 10th
the Los Angeles Times 500 NASCAR race at Ontario Motor Speedway was February 28th - Ontario had '70 440+6 Challenger R/T convertible "pace cars" pictured below
the Questor Grand Prix Formula 1/Formula 5000 race at Ontario Motor Speedway was March 28th
The door sticker say 11-70 so it must have been built in november. I do have some other papers from the car. Ill post picks after this weekend.
is there a broadcast sheet?
Yes there is one. Ill post it after this weekend
broadcast sheet
1st registration
it looks like its "promo" use was over & it sold as "lightly used"/"executive used"/"other" by May '71
the tinted glass probably excludes it from TV or movie use * but the rallye wheels, rallye gauges, F70-14 Polyglas tires, dual racing mirrors IMO still point to something "sporty"
anyone with one of the newspaper search accounts, can you search the CA license plate "066 DBJ"
& VINs JH27G1B227348 and JH27G1B228861 ?
hopefully the red car makes a return trip to MATS this weekend, maybe the owner knows its prior history
thinking out loud  Lee Trevino & Bob Hope were connected/sponsored/other? by Chrysler Corp.
the 1971 PGA Tour had 4 dates in southern California during Jan./Feb.
January 10 - Glen Campbell - Los Angeles Open
January 17 - Bing Crosby National Pro-Am
January 31 - Andy Williams - San Diego Open Invitational
February 14 - Bob Hope Desert Classic
& it looks like there may be a couple more of them:
JH27G1B227349 & JH27G1B228863 (and probably JH27G1B228862 ?)

It was white when i got it
Nice car, looks great in orange :clapping:
White
If it turns out to be a celebrity car or something, you lost a little bit of the originality with the colour change, but you're the one that gets to own and enjoy it, so you might as well :bravo:
Hehe. It doesnt matter. Original the car was kind of ice white and was painted a warmer white somwhere in time. I like the hemi orange perlcoat😆 it was my wifes choice.
Yes: It's hard to beat orange on an E-body.

Looks like they all have changed colour :) so all of these were identical from the factory?
need more info to confirm (tags/sheets/additional VINs), but it is starting to look that way
so far there are 3 originally painted GW3 "bright white" & 1 painted FY1 "top banana"
they are OPTIONED the same, with the exception of the dual racing mirrors: painted on the white cars & chrome on the yellow car
 since FY1 was late to the 1971 color availability, I wonder when dual painted racing mirrors were available in FY1 (vendor lead time & all)
the 2 cars in Sweden are listed on this site: http://mopar70.com/html/1971reg.php anyone able/want to play "Mopar Detective" on that side of the pond to see if any fender tag details are available?
