Title: Windage tray
Post by: fireguyfire on April 14, 2019, 10:24:37 AM
I am changing the rear main seal on my 73 challenger engine (it's a 383 out of a 70) with the engine in the car.
When I dropped the pan I found my engine has a wind she tray in it.
I have the basic cork pan gasket for the engine, so I'm guessing the way to do this would be to put RTV between the engine block and the windage tray, and then RTV between the windage tray and the cork gasket and pan; is that correct?

They use two cork gaskets, one on each side of the tray.

I like the Fel Pro gaskets better than the cork but yes you need 2
