I was looking at this restored 71 Barracuda and was wondering if this was a combo one could order back then. I really like it.
If it is . . I bet it is a rare combo. :dunno:
I was thinking that too. Either way wouldn't really change my level of interest but when I saw it, I knew I loved it.
My 1971 Barracuda had the same or almost exact original combo in it under the custom seat covers that tried to mimic the factory set.
Yup. When I first bought my Cuda, I was sure I was going to paint it orange with black interior.
Then...the original EL5 Bahama Yellow paint and H6T7 tan and brown interior grew on me. Glad I respected its originality, and left it stock.
Just in case anyone is interested :notsure: https://forum.e-bodies.org/parts-misc-for-sale/9/custom-e-body-seat-upholstery/10975/msg151138#msg151138
I have the production sheet now and it shows H6T7. The exterior paint code is GY8 (gold leaf metallic). Making plans now to fly out and see the car in person. All the photos look great!
I just got back from going out to Connecticut to inspect the car. The car is amazing and I'm now in the process of buying it.
So once I get it, I am hoping to fix a couple small things that aren't quite factory correct. With regards to door panels, I am not sure if the door panels were originally two tone like the seats or just solid brown. I see the pics above in two tone and it looks killer.
The seller believes the door panels were solid brown before the restoration. I spoke to the restoration shop and the guy also thought they were solid brown before he resprayed them. Doesn't look like it would be hard to spray in the lighter tan but I'd never do it to a car like this unless I was certain it looked like that from the factory.
door panels were a solid single color when new
