Anyone rolling in for it? I'm here with a buddy who's looking into finding a 71-73 Mustang  :barf:

I've never been.  How big is it and is it just a show or is it a swap meet too?   :needphotos:

The swap meet , 8000 vendors of all makes and near 2000 all makes car corrall , all on over 150 acres was always sold out...but that was until the Millers began have specialty shows... Truck, Ford, Mustang, GM, Corvette, Chryslers  all @ Carlisle and more....and its good that they did.

That, plus the introduction of the internet selling contributed to lots and lots of empty spots in following years and perhaps a couple hundred cars for sale after that at Spring and Fall.
I went every year starting in 1979, ...havent been for 6 years now but spring and fall Carlisle used to be THE place to go.
I dont know how it is these days...like to hear from the guys there this weekend...perhaps its picked up.

I was there yesterday, finding a Mopar part in spring or fall is like finding a needle in a haystack! Car coral wasn't that big and there were only  3 E Bodies . The auction wasn't set up across the street yet but I can't see that being very good. Still nice to walk around and look at stuff. More of an American Pickers scene now.

It really is from what I saw... Plus the cars at the coral seemed to be over priced from what they were.

Spent the day at the swap today.  As mentioned, Mopar stuff is pretty scarce but it still a good time.  I have been fortunate to find a tidbit or two every time I go.  I found a really nice set of take-off dog dish hub caps and a set of valve covers from a 69 Charger R/T removed early on and still sporting all the original paint, inspection marks, etc.  I'll post some pics of the valve covers later.

Also, I saw these BF Goodrich bias ply tires that had a very cool vintage look.  Never heard of them...

Unlike the other days, today{Saturday} had the sun shining with some wind...The usual stuff for mopars..Old consoles, seats here and there..engine parts etc... That challenger did have some serious metallic in the paint I tried to get it but it came out looking like orange peel in the pics..Not a bad car overall...

On the other hand this poor specimen had a chebby guy "restore" it.. First thing potential buyers seen when you walk up was a big star stuck to the windshield proclaiming the owner would knock 5k{from 30k} off the price to " buff out the clear"..Um sorry guy but what I saw won't buff out...I'm not sure what they did but it was beyond a cut and buff more like a repaint...Anyhow, it was a 318 barracuda, bench seat, column shift, incorrect hardware and finishes everywhere you look, with a 340 hockey stripe added to get it to the "30k" mark in the owners eyes...At least he had good weather to drive it home..

No not a show! Just a swap meet and cars for sale!
I hate to say it Cody but don't bother going! Way to far for you to waste your time.
I go every year for over 20 years now ,but its only 250 miles away. Like Terry said it is not the same anymore.
Years ago you could not get a spot in the car coral or a spot in swap meet  event unless you where grandfathered in . Now there's plenty of space's available In the swap meet and car coral. Sad!

Wish I was closer.  Maybe not a great Mopar swap, but still looks like a lot of fun.

It really did... But did have a good bit of orange peel as well in it when it was under cloud cover.

The same guy was selling that, the red challenger, and the 72 (I think) mustang beside of it that the gaps were all jacked up and no panel was even... But if you did buy all three he'd make you a deal  :haha:

I went two days had a great time I know several of the vendors.  Got everything on my list except the MOPAR stuff like a weatherstrip and some blue door locks.  I came home and ebayed them.  She came home with a pile too.  This is a wide ranging event.  I scored an original mobilgas script top for a gas pump, snap-on tools, new Chevelle convertible rear door panels.  One thing I found by accident was cloth wireloom that has a split like the corrugated stuff that slips over wires.  I needed some for the trunk for between where wires come off the harness so you could not use a tube and start from the end.  I got 2 sizes of that.  I guy made a 2 gauge custom negative battery cable it is really nice.  Hemi license plate and a 426 frame for the rear.  I can't wait for the Chrysler show.  I am lucky to be only a hour and a half away.
