Title: Stock Black Steering Wheel From My 71 Challenger
Post by: Daveh on May 10, 2019, 10:27:24 AM
What are your thoughts?

It's from my 71 Challenger and in great shape.  The internals work well, there are no cracks and there are no stripped holes.  What do think it's worth or is it just a wall hanger?  Thanks

Dave

Correct for a base coupe only, with fixed rear windows.

Can't be too many of them out there in that nice of shape I bet!

Most were woodgrain not black so worth keeping or selling not sure on the value .
It would be nice for a car where all the woodgrain was eliminated

:iagree: the smooth black steering wheel  is "correct" for a '70 model year E-body "coupe" (A93) only
- '71 model year had a black pebble grain steering wheel on Challenger "coupes" (JH w/A93) & base Barracudas (BH)

I have picked up a couple of these over the years and both were in super clean condition like yours. Not sure if they are just more durable or what. I recall paying around $50 each. I see them from time to time in nice shape at around $100. I personally like the look of them better than the wood grain ones.
