Means you don't have an optional gear ratio....just the standard 3:23 83/4 rear end. The info is on the broadcast sheet.

Thanks.   Although I have almost everything for this car including the title where previous owner bought in 1976....  The car even has 1970 challenger  houdstooth  seats   BUT  the broadcast sheet in the back was not for this car... It was for a Cuda from what I could tell.  wasnt much left at all.

I think there is a tag on the differential that tells you the ratio. Maybe my memory is faulty.

You should expect a 3.23 single tire fryer.

I agree in the 3.23 part... But an R/T SE was a fair chance of being a sure grip....

one would think that the high cost of the SEs would indicate more OPTIONs but that usually covers "visible" OPTIONs - to show off as "dealer demos"

sure-grip D91 on '70 Challenger R/T:
JS23 Challenger R/T hardtop ~57.4%
JS27 Challenger R/T convertible ~52.3%
JS29 Challenger R/T SE ~49.9% (~8.0% are 440HP, 440+6 & HEMI cars with a 4-speed and a sure-grip included mandatory DANA 60 axle package)

Yep, and I bet the stats are even the same if not worse for A66s. Sure-grips are not as common as I would have thought on performance versions.

unfortunately, the A66 cars cannot be separated from the 318, 383-2 & 383-4 V8 (JH) Challengers, which as a whole had D91 installation rates ~10.5%
only ~122 were A66 w/A36 (3.55:1) axle packages
only ~160 were A66 w/A31 (3.91:1) axle packages

Dan, would you know the % of JS29 cars with the A32 package? Thanks.

Dan, would you know the % of JS29 cars with the A32 package? Thanks.

accounting for 3,741 of the 3,979 total production of 1970 Challenger R/T SEs (JS29) ~94.0%

JS29:
440HP w/A32 (4.10:1 DANA 60 axle package) ~0.8% (~30 of 733 JS29 U-code automatic cars) 2 out of 50 (~4%)
440+6 w/A32 (4.10:1 DANA 60 axle package) ~1.8% (~67 of 161 JS29 V-code automatic cars) 2 out of 5 if you find a V-code automatic SE there's about a 40% chance it's a 4.10 DANA car
426 HEMI w/A32 (4.10:1 DANA 60 axle package) ~0.5% (~19 of 37 JS29 R-code automatic cars) 1 out of 2 if you find a R-code automatic SE there's about a 50% chance it's a 4.10 DANA car
