Ok, my last visit was 20 years ago before the 70 six pack cuda was put on hold.
I finally have the car in the good hands of labrecque autocraft for restoration after having dropped it off fresh from media blasting two weeks ago.
So I will need a lot of parts, should I and can I get it all at the show?
Mike at Resto shop said we can put together a list of sheet metal required if they have it on site...mentions Stevens?
also, I will need and thinking of buying;
six pack flywheel clutch and three finger PP plus bearing and bushing
dash pad
legendary interior full kit
some sound damping floor material
wiring harness
rallye rim set 15x7s ?
rocker gills
440 hockey stick
wheel well trim
hood latches
Gas tank
brake and fuel lines
used pass fender
...I'll think of more I am sure.
Are there deals to be made compared to online specials, should I try and get it all there and where do I start? Thanks!
I just said "why?" to sound dampening because that's something you can get local at anytime. I'm sure the restoration shop has it on the shelf.
The idea is to buy parts at Carlisle you can get locally. :alan2cents:
I can definitely help you out on the parts. we stock a good portion of that list already. Shipping may or may not be an issue, Just depends on what your looking to spend. If you want I can price that stuff out just email me a list of items your looking for to parts@mikeriehls.com and what seat covers you are needing as well. thx.
:thankyou: for all help and advise folks!
Alan thanks for entering sources line by line.. very helpful. I will be sure to say hi to Mike for you.. we should be doing a project review very soon.
Mopardave, I will reach out once I have a sheetmetal list. thx!
Few things...
what sound proofing brand ?
Carpet source and is this always black?
I received a notice that legendary is having 20% off till fathers day, I plan on taking advantage of that, any ordering advise on parts ? ... I am thinking of just ordering everything; covers, foam, install kits, hog rings for $1k total with sale prices.
(or should I try and use the old foam?)
I have white interior option, I will eventually need to figure out how far the white extends.. door panels should also be white?
Roseville probably will not attend the Carlisle show the same reason that Mancini's stopped going . . . costs! The amount of money just to get there and put employees up in Hotels and payroll is large! Just the tolls alone are huge! Last year I pulled my car there on a trailer and spent $180 in tolls! I spent more in tolls than I did in gas! Can't imagine the costs for all the employees and the semi carrying all the parts in tolls . . . have to sell every part just to make a buck!

I fully understand the reason behind it....I just like :pokeeye: David every once and awhile....
Companies like "VANS" or "MEGA" are very successful selling enough product to cover their costs....but like I said Carlisle NEEDS a one stop shop vendor with experienced guys like the team at Roseville .... they would do very well there I think, even just delivering pre-purchased items.
The difficulty in bringing product to the show is that what sold well last year, may not move at all the next year. After 28 years of vending, it is always a matter of luck to what to bring. Unless someone just concentrated on delivering "pre-orders', there is no way that one vendor could be a one stop shop for the Carlisle attendees. The good thing about the Carlisle show is that with a bit of research, a customer can search out a variety of vendors who can take care of the customer needs.
I know for us, it is a good tool to educate our customers and vendors on what we provide. Even though, there may be three to four different manufactures of any given product. There is a good chance that you can view each and every one of them at Carlisle. That way, the customer can make a decision on which product best suits their needs. That is why I am an advocate of trying to buy from what you can hold in your hand to inspect. At least, if you don't buy it that weekend, you can at least have the knowledge of how the different products compares to each other.
In regards to cost, we run a very tight plan to attend the show. For a very small group like ourselves, it is well over $8,000 spent before you ever pull out of the drive to head to Carlisle. I would hate to think what it cost someone like Coker Tire to pull out and make the show. I did get a call today from ECS today and they will be over in the general swap meet area this year and they will be bringing product to sell as well.
See everyone in a couple of weeks!!!
Just heard from Tom that Accurate Ltd. Exhaust will NOT be attending the show this year... :crying: I was planning on picking up some exhaust...

With a white interior you will have a black carpet. Along with black kick panels, dash pad and package shelf. Colored interiors got matching carpet, like red carpet with a red interior, but that is not the case with white.
I'd recommend ACC carpets. Go with their "mass backed" option and you won't need to worry about sound/heat proofing products like Dyno mat on your floor under the carpet as the formed rubber backing of the mass backed ACC carpet takes care of that just fine!
Order ACC through Rock Auto with the E body.org 5% discount code and it will be drop shipped right to your door and you probably won't find a better price ( though it always is good to shop around to make sure). Unboxing it immediately after it arrives to make sure it's ok and to lay it out flat to keep folds and wrinkles from setting in, which is a risk if you leave it rolled up in the shipping box for long.
I used ACC mass backed carpet in my convertible and although it was more work to install than the standard carpet, the results were well worth it!
