Title: Air cleaner spacer
Post by: Nel on June 15, 2019, 07:03:10 PM
Finally Install the FItech today, been sitting on the self for the last year. Now I need a 1/2 inch air cleaner spacer because it hit where the fuels goes in. Would that be what I'm looking for? It a 340 4brls

I believe 5.125 is the correct diameter but it would only take a minute to measure your throttle body & air cleaner base  , the earlier carbs for the 60s used a smaller diameter in some applications

Most folks use a 45 or 90 degree fitting to route the fuel supply line downward slightly so it clears the air cleaner without a spacer.... My stock dual snorkel clears fine...

I am using that for my Fitech but I got that from Jegs. Summit only had the plastic ones at that time. I needed that to clear with an aftermarket 14" drop base air cleaner and 45 degree fitting to the Fitech. Works great with an air filter type top lid that makes up the air flow loss from a drop base.
