Title: WIW: rare E-Body memorabilia
Post by: Dakota on September 12, 2019, 09:24:13 AM
I now have in my possession a piece of E-Body memorabilia that is extraordinarily rare.   Based on the research I've done, only a few of these are known to exist.   This particular item had only 1 previous owner.   There is a date code clearly stamped on it.   The tape used in several places is factory correct (I believe it is all NOS).   There is a slight tear on one edge, but otherwise the exterior is all original and has retained the original body lines and patina.  There is no rust evident.   There is handwriting in several places that will provide some unique additions to the assembly line "doodles" documentation discussed on another thread here.   The approach on transmission appears to be mostly automatic instead of the even more rare fully manual.

I've submitted pictures and the historical information I've pulled together to Galen Govier for review and certification so that I can definitively state this is a "1 of _?_" piece.

That's right folks, @anlauto (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/anlauto_19) does actually (if only occasionally) ship parts.  I have a shipment package to prove it. :D

My question is how long did it take @anlauto (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/anlauto_19) to find the post office!!!!  I assume he has never been there before!

I'm guessing that the small packet trim level is more common than a large pack trim. it needs to be framed for the garage. great find!

If there was enough interest perhaps we could start reproducing them? I think Canada Post still makes the envelopes but we better hurry, they have been bankrupt for years and may not last much longer.  :canada:

Obviously the combination of a full moon on Friday the 13th has caused Alan to display some very strange behavior.

you guys know that after all this, @anlauto (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/anlauto_19) is never going to ship anything EVER again!

Which of course drives up the value of this particular item.

@Dakota (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/dakota_973) are you open to offers on this amazing item???
