Title: R/T vs TA interior
Post by: GoMangoBoys on December 27, 2019, 08:21:26 PM
Are there any differences in the interior side panels for the R/T vs the TA version of the 1970 Challenger?

For the first couple months of production there was no woodgrain inserts in the interior  door panels, but by the time T/A production started all Challenger door panels had the inserts.  But you wouldn't want to use the non woodgrain door panels on a T/A restoration.

It may not matter for what you need;  but newer and some reproduction Challenger door panels also have differences on the back side; the 70 panels came with 7 lower clips (holding the panel to the door) and the newer panels had less.
The upper bracing that locks in to the top of the door is also a little different. Newer panels will fit with these minor differences.
If you stay with a 70 panel, it will not matter.
