Title: Seam sealer
Post by: fireguyfire on January 03, 2020, 08:04:00 AM
Do you guys usually put your seam sealer back in the factory locations on bare metal, then prime, or prime, then seam sealer?

@fireguyfire (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/fireguyfire_2964)      I prefer to apply the seam sealer over primer. cured and scuffed.   :alan2cents:

I'm about to do etching + seam + primer because I don't want to bust out my gun just for a tiny shot.

For sure over epoxy..The factory put it over bare steel, or over the body dip primer, either way, there's always rust under the factory seam sealer it seems.

That is why I apply it over some sort of coating. Rust is common under seam sealer when applied over bare metal.
