Title: Heat shield
Post by: fireguyfire on January 11, 2020, 10:22:57 AM
I've switched back to factory exhaust manifolds on my 70 383 engine.
IIRC there are either one or two spark plug heat shields on the engine.
Can someone post up a photo of this/these so I know what I'm looking for and I can track them down?

There's a few spark plug shields and also exhaust shields. I'll look for a photo of where they all go when I get back to my computer.

In 1970 there's only two that I'm aware of. The one mounted on the passenger side to protect #6 & #8 plug. https://www.megapartsusa.com/proddetail.asp?prod=101%2DPWS02
and the one on the drivers side to protect #7 plug

These are the spark plug looms to keep the heat from the exhaust manifolds off the wires.  There's also the heat shield that goes on the exhaust too.

I've got the loom set shown; I'm assuming the heat shields are in addition to the loom set?
