Well since it is in the dead of winter and Mother Nature can't make up her mind my shop time has been limited. In order to keep some excitement going I thought I would attempt to trade my 1969 383 Air Grabber/Ram Charger air cleaner into a 71 Cuda or AAR or T/A. Before everyone goes off and calls me all sort of names I know a straight across trade is ridiculous. What I am hoping to do is through a series of trades over a period of time (several months) is to transform the air cleaner into a much desired e-body. I would keep this thread updated with each trade so everyone can share in this crazy idea. So let's get this journey started...
What I have to trade is an original 1969 383 Air Grabber air cleaner. It has been repainted but in nice shape. Who needs it and what do you have to trade? Let's keep the trade offers at least car related but other than that I am open...ha. PM me with offers.
Just to keep this compliant with the site rules...I would take $1000 for the air cleaner. Obviously, with that price I don't want to sell but if someone wants to pay this incredibly stupid price they can have it :bigmoney:
Location is Sullivan, IL and shipping is a possibility.
Great idea....wasn't there a TV show where the guys started out with a cheaper item. then continued to trade up, and up until he got something he really wanted ? sounds familiar...

Yep, I am not inventing the wheel with this...I believe there was a car TV show that revolved around trading cars until they got a car worth X amount of money.
If it goes well I think it should be fun sharing with everyone.
Just curious...whats the purpose of the black rectangle piece tacked underside near the front of neck.
Put there by someone to secure the top bridge ?
I really like this idea. I would often rather trade parts than buy them outright. I think this forum should start a special section where people can put up the parts they have to trade off and what they are looking for. Thoughts

I will check when I get get home but it believe you are seeing the factory indentation for the bridge. I don't believe it is a tacked on rectangle...but I will check and post back here. I have attached an enlarged picture of that area from the original picture that I posted.

@mccannix (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/mccannix_432) I have confirmed what you were seeing was the indentation from the bridge...there isn't a plate tacked on.
I see it now...thanks for clarifying
If $1000 is the crazy number, what's the reasonable value. I have a few parts I would trade for that..but they are not worth $1000 bucks.

This will be interesting to watch. Good luck with it.
I have had several offers but mostly used engine parts and wheels. Nothing that I feel would be good material for the next trade. Keep the offers coming...
