The only known breakdown goes by model, engine and transmission. In your case there were 2,076 1970 Challenger R/T SE 383 4bl with the automatic transmission. Of those approx. 4.5 percent were painted EK2.
Any idea how many 70 R/TSE 383 Magnum autos were Plum Crazy ?
FC7 was THEmost popular colour

Man....that's a sweet RT/SE. If had D21 it would be one of my bucket list mopar's right there. I love RT/SE's in orange or K5!
Surprised how popular the dark burnt orange colour was in 1970 ( the second most popular colour ) it's know as " Ginger " here in Blighty, Personally, really don't like it at all. It does nothing to enhance the gorgeous shape of the Challenger.
Any break downs of T/A's? interested in FJ6 Green Go numbers
Thanks
You can see FJ6 is pretty low on overall Challenger production, so as a very basic guide line you can take that percentage and do the math on the total T/A production to come up with a basic estimate.
The guy that runs the AAR registry publicly shares all types of information like the amount of FJ6 AAR's KNOWN to exist,
UNFORTUNETLY the guy :-X that runs the Challenger T/A registry does not share any information.

The 7.5% color breakdown is of ALL RT/SE's; all motors and transmission. By the chart Alan posted that's 281 cars

the vast majority of the FJ6 & FM3 Challengers (JH23) on the above chart are going to be T/As (spring '70 introduction high-impact colors & spring introduction specialty car)
for the data I have organized - this is also skewed by the collectability/popularity of cars over the past 50 years
36 T/As & 1 Challenger in FJ6 (1/318)
59 T/As & 8 Challengers in FM3 (1/198, 5/318, 2/340)

you can
NOT take liberties with the info that has survived from Chrysler :pullinghair: by your "very basic guide line": 2400 (JH23J0Bs) x .004 (FJ6) = 9.6 T/As painted FJ6 (US spec) :stop:
there is INCLUDED ERROR already present in the numbers - presenting/manipulating them outside of their intended purpose introduces
HUGE ERROR
Yes: It's really almost conjecture. I know of a fellow with a Hemi car of which there are thought to be 2 in the world. His is number 3 for sure and who knows if there are more.

I was trying to point it out as a VERY BASIC, giving you an rough ESTIMATE....that's all....I've seen lots of people use this as a guide line....I agree with you 1000% that it's NOT going to be ACCURATE, especially with the rarer colours like FJ6 and FM3.....how does it average with colours like FC7 or FE5 ?

l....I've seen lots of people use this as a guide line....
IT IS BAD MATH
IT IS BAD PRACTICE
IT IS INVENTING A NUMBER
IT HAS NO BASIS IN REALITY"lots of people" did it, do it, will do it - is not a valid argument/defense :foul: they are WRONG .....
So what are you trying to say Dan ? :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
You should convince your friend that runs the Challenger T/A registry to make the information of known examples public knowledge, that way nobody would have to use bad math to come up with factious numbers to suit their own curiosity. :alan2cents:
