I am ready to drop my trans, i suspect it will be out a while.
Any tips on supporting the engine while the trans is out?
I thought of a 2x4 under the oil pan supported by jack stands.
Jason
That works or if you will have to roll the car around you can use a ratchet strap around the torsion bars and under the oil pan at the rear.
I saw a guy use a 2x4 across the top of the engine bay, fender to fender, with a ratchet strap under the back of the block. Seemed to work well and was out of the way except the hood wouldn't close I think I've seen a bar across the front frame rails connected to the back of the block too.
Harbor freight sells a support for holding the engine. :alan2cents:
I would just use a piece of wood or steel across the T bars under the oil pan

Yup :bigthumb:
i just cut a 2x4 right length and put under the engine... really you just want to take some weight off of the engine mounts so they dont break...

Yep :wrenching:
Thanks guys. I went with a 2x4 under the pan on axle stands. The exhaust is in the way of putting on the tbars
