Title: Shaker Ring Washers?
Post by: 392 Cuda on March 20, 2020, 07:50:07 PM
I've been working on my shaker setup, including an AMD shaker hood with the AMD Shaker Ring.

The ring fits perfectly, but It comes with flat washers in addition to the nuts with captive star washers.

It did not come with a gasket. Do the flat washers go between the ring and the hood?

I appreciate any help you can provide!

No, in my opinion, the flat washers would not be used whatsoever. :alan2cents:

Check the clearance between the bubble and hood to see if there's plenty of room once the rubber seal makes contact.

The gasket might make the trim ring sit to high.I know it did on mine.I did not use it.

Thanks, everyone!

It ended up looking pretty good, I think...

The bubble gasket is depressed slightly more than I would like, but I must have miscalculated the height and it's at the bottom of the adjustments I built into the brackets.

Next step is grills, then making it functional, which will require an airbox among other things.
