Title: Best lower radiator hose for 440
Post by: Fern on March 22, 2020, 09:37:49 AM
My lower hose just started to leak where it bolts to engine.
The one I have now rubs on the frame rail. Is one brand better than another for fit?
Thanks in advance.

I find they sometimes need to be trimmed shorter a little bit.

Yup... Just a little trimming usually cures those issues....

Not sure how everything fits on a 440, but when I was looking to buy my current 340 Cuda I noticed the lower radiator hose was rubbing against the cross member. Figured it was a cheap aftermarket hose at first, but the more I looked at it I decided that the hose was installed backwards. So that may be worth looking at. Anyway, thinking the hose might be compromised, I got an actual Chrysler hose from Classic Industries and installed it correctly, problem fixed.

I had issues with the one on my 383 Cuda. Found out that one for either an A or B body fit a lot better.
