Hey that's interesting, I've never seen that before. When you get it, be sure to give us a peek inside, I wonder how it's presented
I just ordered it today.
I will give feedback when I get it.
I see where there is a manual for the Challenger also. Anyone bought one?
www.faxonautoliterature.com/1970-1971-Dodge-Challenger-Electrical-and-Body-Assembly-Manual-Reprint-P34871.aspx
WOW, THEY'VE FINALLY ARRIVED!
I've been waiting about 12 years for those, and I thought those books would never see the light of day.
Years ago, the Hamtramck Historical website had engineering diagrams posted on their website for everyone to reference.
Dave Walden from ECS was talking with people at Chrysler, and found that they still had the original diagrams, supposedly including ones that hadn't escaped into our hobbyist hands yet.
He encouraged them to publish the diagrams for all of us to use.
Chrysler made a deal with Faxon to publish them, not just for E bodies, but for lots of Mopars.
They started in the mid 1960's, and were working their way towards newer cars like the E bodies.
Chrysler sent Hamtramck Historical a cease and desist letter, and made Barry take the diagrams off his website. Obviously, they wanted people to buy the book.
The the 2008ish financial crisis happened, and Chrysler was bought by Fiat before the project was completed.
They had more important things to worry about after that.
We waited a few years for the books, hoping they would show up, but they never did.
Our resources section here has much nicer scans of the diagrams than the Hamtramck Historical website had.
The versions inside those books should be even better quality though, so hopefully we'll be able to read the fine print, and if we're really lucky, we'll find something new that we haven't seen before.
SWEET!!
Hopefully it will be a good manual if it is I will order one.
Decent price I think.
So it's different information then would be in the 1970 service manual ? Interesting
Very different. I've seen assembly manuals for other cars before and they are very much like this one. It shows how everything is put together.
This is very much new information.
Any chance you can give us an example ? maybe snap a couple of pictures of the pages....the curiosity is killing me :pullinghair:
These are the Engineering Illustrations from 1969.
WOW....okay, I'm impressed....some of the photos are similar to the service manual, but they appear to be all original TSB which is cool... :worship:
I've assembled over 35 E Bodies, don't really need instructions....but I think this would be a cool addition to my library. :bigthumb:
Thank you VERY MUCH for taking the time to post pictures :drinkingbud:
I received mine today also.
I haven't opened the box yet, but I'm sure looking forward to it!
these are "Engineering Illustrations" (in plant use) not TSB "Technical Service Bulletins" (dealership service use)
I purchased two of the manuals (1969 Plymouth A & B-body) offered by Faxon a number of years ago - they are each <100 pages (8-1/2"x11")
a few issues,
so the image was larger, they eliminated the title block and other info
being less than 100 pages they are incomplete
with NO title block and factory page numbers, that are referenced on other pages/that may or may not be there, detail/info is missing/lost :verymad:
hopefully these 300+ page manuals are improved based on lessons learned - I will buy one or two - I just hope that they are different VS. 80% being the same (E-body) with ~50 different pages between Barracuda & Challenger, but I doubt it  why not just make a 400 page E-body manual for $50 (instead of 2 manuals with 80% same content for $40 each) oh! that's right they're going to get $80 from me, but I won't be happy about it because of the shortfalls.
:pullinghair:
please prove me wrong :fingerscrossed:
About how many pages are there in it?
I hope they're complete also. The pages Cudahead showed at least had the title blocks.

Yup again, my mistake...I just quickly used the term TSB...I couldn't think of the proper term....they look close to TSB's :headbang:
It's more of an educational thing in that it shows you where things were meant to be on the car.
I know I could of used it when I was putting in an new dash harness.
But I'm also one of those people that like to have all the documentation that I can find.
Ok, I have spent some time with the book and I believe that anyone who has ever worked on your car, will benefit from the details you see in this book.
339 pages and I have not found a single one that I have seen before.
Make sure you read the "Key to Model Codes" page in the front of the book first.
ordered one too .... will come in handy shortly I hope ....
What size are the printed pages? Are they complete drawings or cropped to zoom in due small page?
I also just got the 1970 Wiring Diagram Manual.
It's a reprint of all the Barracuda/Cuda diagrams from the Service Manual.
It has, once again, small print, but readable.
The real value is not having to look through all the models. It's just has the ones for the Barracuda/Cuda.
received my copy today. flipping through it, it will be quite useful. definitely a good addition to the library :bigthumb:
