Title: 70 Challenger when turn key nothing.
Post by: plymouthbelvy on April 24, 2020, 04:36:26 PM
Hello. I sometimes go to start my car and nothing. Does not turn over or even make a click. I turn key on and cross over relay and starts right up. This is random. Starts normal most of the time and then out of blue does this. I have replaced the starter, relay and battery cable. I checked connection on steering column and was good. This is driving me nuts. I also checked at bulkhead to see if making sure it was plugged in all the way. The first 8 months or so after car was done it started doing this. Any ideas? Thanks.

I also have clutch safety switch that was rebuilt and still does this when bypassed. FYI

When it's doing this check for voltage on the yellow wire at the starter relay, with key turned to start position, on the inner fender.. If there is power you have a bad relay, if not you have a bad connection or possibly bad ignition switch

Thanks.I will check yellow wire. I have tried a couple different relays all being new and still does it. I just got a new ignition switch but have yet had time to change it.  Thanks again for reply.
