Title: Voltage Limiter upgrade.
Post by: js27 on May 30, 2020, 01:25:09 PM
I may be pulling the dash back out of my 67 Satellite and want to do a upgrade to a solid state voltage limiter. Is this just a plug in and done ? Any suggestions on who sells  American made ? I have seen them from $13.99 to 89.95.

Yes they are plug in an you're done. Externally they look the same.
I made my own years ago for about 3 bucks. A To220 case regulator is pretty cheap if you are electronically inclined.
A mopar action article had details on how to make them.

On my 66 Charger, i used RC UBEC 5V 6V 3A ...its adjustable for either 5v or 6v output...   On my charger i set it for 6V as those old gauges seem to need a little more.   On ebay for around $3.44 free shipping.    I bought two so that if it blows out i have a spare...  that was three years ago and still working fine.
