Title: Battery tray question
Post by: 70Barracuda on April 29, 2017, 07:44:19 PM
I bought a complete tray kit.  I cannot figure out the brace.  It bolts to the inner fender but there is no place for it to bolt to the tray.    There is a hole to the back but none for the brace.

Is this a senior moment?  Maybe

Tray maybe improperly made missing the needed hole , the brace should be vertical bolted to the inner fender , you my have to drill a hole for it

Ya, post a photo of the tray if you can.  I've seen lots of reproduction battery trays with the hole in the wrong spot.  That's what my money would be on.   :bigthumb:

Hole's usually off by 2" or so.

Sorry it's been so long to get back.  The tray is AMG?  Guess I'll be drilling.

Are you talking about the upper or lower brace? I found I needed to get as many bolts in it as I could, and then using a tapered bar, wrench it into position to get the last bolt in- and it worked. The bottom one goes into a moveable J-nut and should offer some adjustment. Just my  :alan2cents:

I believe there is only one brace under the tray.  Just need to drill a hole and put the bolt in.
