Title: Hood Insulation
Post by: Daveh on July 10, 2020, 12:03:50 PM
Hey Guys,

Did they ever make hood insulation for shaker cars?  If not do you recommend buying one and cutting the hole in it for the shaker.  If so which ones would you recommend and what clips?  Thanks

Shaker hood cars never came with insulation from the factory...I guess you could get the pre-formed ones, but not sure how well it would stay up with the center cut out

My vote would be "No" on trying to make hood insulation work on a Shaker hood car.  :alan2cents:

Only my 2 cents if could put under hood insulation on a shaker car I would not . The shaker looks raw ,tough ,cool and makes a statement. The  hood insulation would look a little tame if you know what I mean .

What is your intent with the insulation?

I ask because whatever you do from a hood mat standpoint will be completely offset by the giant air sucking hole in the middle of it. It's like driving with the a/c on with the windows down.  :burnout:

Never offered and I don't think you could make it look good.
