Title: 71 Challenger high dollar Resto-Mod
Post by: 4mayhemi on May 03, 2017, 01:02:30 PM
We all love pics, thought I'd share some of a very nicely done Challenger.  Subtle and respectful, in my opinion.
This car comes to you via the owner of Weathertech. You've seen his ads. I was in his store (suburb of Chicago) making him richer, mouth drooling.  He rotates his personal collection of cars to show, I've seen a DB9, mustangs, etc. very eclectic mix but all high dollar.
Note the "V Point" license plate. And yes, it does have 18/17 rims, but at least its a JH23G.

Beautiful Chally, and I love the silver bumblebee stripe on the white.  Any pics of under the hood?  Is it for sale or just a show piece?

I like those seats! Wonder what they are.

Looking closer and comparing, they might be Porsche 911, like the ones I have.

No engine pics, I was already crawling all over the floor and didn't want to get kicked out. Just for oogling! He's apparently a real wheels enthusiast, here's a pic of his bikes too, usually 5 at a time on a rotating basis as well. I should start asking around the local shows to see if he brings some of his cars.

If those seats are from a Porsche, they fit real nice and here the hide is tastefully done.

I was wondering and see this a lot, when you spend that much, why wouldn't you start with a factory A/C car and engineer the A/C from there, especially with a late model drop-in? Assuming there's no firewall work to crunch up the ductwork.

That's super nice.  Like you say it's "Subtle and respectful" and IMO it works really well.    :lookatthat:  Very nice car.

What do you think it's worth?   :bigmoney:  I bet at BJ it would bring near $200k.  Cars like that bring the big money.

Wasn't this car built by a CC member?  The gen3 hemi specialist guy?

Yeah he goes by "modern muscle" on CC, he sells all the components to do a gen3 swap.  I think he may have even supplied some of the parts the dan (dfrazz or @303 Mopar (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/303-mopar_7)) used for his swap?  There is en entire build thread on this white chally on  CC somewhere

SEMA build 2013 or 14?

Still looks showroom with what looks like around 1500 miles. Not a huge fan of big$$ resto-mods, but this one has brought me to the dark side.

I am constantly amazed how a lot of you can remember and name cars off the top of your head "Oh the FE5 A32? That's in Bourbon, KY. Ya'll thinkin of the FE5 A32 in Socks, VA. Those are different from the FE5 A32 I saw at MATS from Scrotum, NJ." :worship:

Nice workmanship, the interior is totally not my style. The bikes are awesome.
