I'm getting the first sets of sheet metal for my 70 Challenger in the next week or so and am at the point of committing to doing the work myself or sending the whole kit to a shop.
Here's my question...
I have to replace pretty much my whole trunk...trunk floor, back sides of both sides inner/outer wheelhouses, trunk extensions, and quarters.
I had planned to do this sheet metal myself and then send to a shop to blast all the original paint from teh rest of the car and prime/sand/paint. But...what needs to be done to the insides of the quarters and the outer sides of the trunk extensions? Seems silly to send those panels for paint, then later blast the whole car...but if not then the panels will just be the black shipping coating.
Not sure if i'm over-complicating this...this will be my first car resto so not sure how these inside pieces get taken care of to last. Any advise would be appreciated.

In my opinion, the car should be completely stripped and blasted FIRST before any rust repair is considered. Blasting a car will find rust you never knew existed :alan2cents:
Blast the car, then put everything in to epoxy to lock in the good metal. Do all the metal / rust repair and re-epoxy any metal that was exposed during the metal repair step. Then once all the rust is repaired, then start prepping for paint with body work.
Even after you find rust spot holes from blasting, doesn't mean you are done and that's all the metal to replace.
I found that using an Ice pick, and lightly stabbing suspected areas; the pick went thru in areas nearby.
Go to suspected area perimeters and try around it.
