Title: Door jamb switch, few questions
Post by: FSHTAIL on October 27, 2020, 03:24:04 AM
Hi everyone...

I bought two new door jamb switches to replace the broken stockers.
This is just one of those things that has never worked on the car, the dome light.
The brass section seems to be too long, cuz he's auto adjust when you install it?

Also, are these just threaded in or is there a nut on the backside that is hardly there or deteriorated?

Thanks.

Chris - asked the same question earlier this year.  Some good advice I received: out a couple of layers of painter's tape at the contact point with the door to protect your paint when you first put them in.  Also, make sure the female threads are clean as there needs to be a good ground connection for the switch to work right.

I used one recently and it just mushroomed out and broke. Now i put them in a vice and tap the sleeve down with some lube on it gently to ensure its free, then finish it off in the door.
