Anyone have any pictures of the orange paint patch that was often found on the Alternators?
Thanks

Thank you so much
I suspect the markings on an alternator are similar in a sense to what you see on car's undersides like the rear axle.
They weren't exactly the same on every car, but instead varied depending on who was working on that line at a particular shift and even varied with the same worker depending on time of day etc.
If your original part is gone, or has been refinished, the markings are gone and you will never know exactly what it was originally. You can duplicate what another restorer has done, or what you see on an unrestored car, but that doesn't mean that is how it was on your car.
I got this alternator probably close to 20 years ago from Bill Rolik, and it is an NOS supposedly assembly line part. You can see its orange markings are somewhat different than the one Dixie shows. Another interesting thing I note on it is that is has a thin protective coating of some sort on it.
