Title: No Reserve: 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye @ Bringatrailer.com
Post by: Smallblock340 on December 04, 2020, 02:29:57 AM
No Reserve: 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye Project in B5 Blue
VIN: JS23H2B230518
Link: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-dodge-challenger-6/
Current bid: $9,000 with only 5 days left...

I wonder if the VIN code is correct...  :notsure:
Some years ago a 1972 Challenger (Gold) was listed for sale with the same VIN/Fendertag.

What do you think? Rebody car?

The old term "dirty work at the crossroads" comes to mind! They should call the car Lazarus, since it too, seemingly has arisen from the dead!

Maybe the guy bought the gold car and painted it blue when he restored it ? :alan2cents:

That does seem plausible to me. Remnants of gold paint are visible next to the Door Vin Decal...
Thank you @Poolshark314 (https://forum.e-bodies.org/mlist/poolshark314_8339) for requesting this information!
When looking at the current condition of the car, I am afraid the body work was restored and repainted without any decent prepping...  :('

Below is the link to an old ad of the same Challenger, put up for sale as it seems shortly after the first restoration:

This car didn't look too bad when it was gold.

It's flipping in it's purest form...you buy a car, throw a quick paint job on it a sell it.....no harm there

No Problem! Yeah definitely does not look like the best paint job. I am excited about seeing the other listings he mentioned are coming soon
