Title: Auto shifter differences between 70 Chally and 73 Chally
Post by: RazorX on March 24, 2021, 03:50:18 PM
Does anyone know if a automatic shifter mechanism that fits a 1970 Challenger, console floor shift, will fit a 1973 Challenger Console floor shift. Assuming all the brackets etc are present in the 1973?  Thank you

It should fit fine. The difference is that stock 71-73 were the T handle shifter and 70 and 74 were the 70 style round push button one. I've had both and the push button is better built and works better. I have several broken T handled as a reference. It was so bad I used to keep a stubby Phillips screwdriver in my console for when the shifter would act up in my super bee. Ended up yanking it and putting in a 70 e body one.
