Just trying to gauge if I am going to run into any clearance issues swapping the old starter for a newer mini starter. It is a stock 440 with the 2843992-1 stock manifolds. Am I going to need to remove the manifold or will I be okay to just swap it out no issues? Any other things to take note of? Thanks in advance
With stock manifolds and exhaust, should be a straight forward swap  ...no need to remove the manifold unless you're trying to do the swap from the topside

Awesome thanks Alan!
Some of the mini starters have extra connection 'bits' on them that can cause a clearance issue with the block. Mine did. It was easily removed. It was like a 90* connector for the battery cable.

Ok thanks, I have the little adapter pieces to flip the terminals away from the block also in case I needed them
Top bolt was pretty tough to get turning, but job got done. Very glad I bought the adapters to flip the terminals 90 degrees!
Do you notice any difference in the cranking power...?
Only tried it one time since it was getting late but it certainly cranks a lot faster
