Title: 1970 Challenger Window Etching
Post by: Friscomail on March 31, 2021, 12:22:54 PM
Forum,

I am trying to figure what the correct etchings should be on the door glass of my 70 Challenger - the car is a hardtop but I don't think that would matter.  I have attached two pics - both are different so one is for sure wrong or perhaps both.  The car is fairly original.

Any help much appreciated.

thx.

In my opinion, the top picture may be replacement glass. PPG made the glass, but they always had the Pentastar on them I believe. :alan2cents:

My 70 Challenger does have the factory installed glass since I've never had a reason to change out the door, and quarter and back light windows. Windshield is a different story a rock chip took care of that.
Thanks,   Al

the PPG "HERCULITE" is replacement glass - the date on it appears to be "36" = March 1976

the other piece is factory original glass with a date code of "99" = September 1969

Thanks for all the comments and help.  I think pic #440 is probably the right path.  Thank you.
