R/T or non-R/T?
Prices are all over the place as they have never been reproduced.

There are a couple of them listed on Ebay ranging from $550 to $2,500 depending on condition and extra parts etc.
Tony's has one listed for $1,500. I would assume grill only and is a non-R/T

That's about $1,350 USD,  making it within 10% of Tony's price.

The $2,500 OBO grill on Ebay is an R/T non-argent that comes with bezels, upper tray and hood latch.

I've lost count of how many 71 convertible owners have asked to buy my R/T grill off my car at a show.  :looney:
They offer to give me their argent grill plus cash.... I tell them the grill is $40k, but comes with a free car.

Is there a physical difference between R/T and non-R/T? I thought they were just different colors?

No physical difference. R/T is shiny black plastic (not painted).
The non-R/T has the textured argent, can't recall the color underneath.

As far as I know, all 71 Challenger grilles were molded black.  As mentioned, the R/T grille was left bare/natural which resulted in a slightly glossy look.  The non-R/T grille got a coat of argent over the black.  I have a friend who got pretty good years back at stripping the argent and polishing back the black plastic to convert non-R/T to R/T.

I recently took an argent grill, sanded it down and it was black plastic underneath...I didn't polish the black, I just resprayed it with black paint...
