Title: Vintage Air brackets
Post by: Challenger in NC on April 22, 2021, 12:40:26 PM
I received my surefit A/C kit and will be getting ready to test fit the box to the firewall. The car is not at my house right now so I cant look at it, but the angle of these brackets looks way off. The firewall is basically flat from what I recall. I have a call into the tech line with photos to see if these brackets are incorrect. Does anyone recall having any issues with these? It would not be that hard to flatten these out but I'd rather have a set that is correct to start with. Vintage Air is sending me out a new set to see if they work better. I also had two plastic clips that had broken off of the fan casing so they are sending out a new fan to be swapped out.

I did not install the VA unit in my 74 Challenger.. but here is a photo I received from the prior owner showing the unit mounted.

Cant see the firewall side.. I'll see if I have any other photos.

Wouldn't take much to tweak those brackets, but I agree you shouldn't have to , but that seems to be the norm with reproduction parts these days...I can't be of any help comparing to my latest one because I completely modified those brackets when I moved my box over 10"
